Function Basement Design

Consultation

Our free initial consultation consists of a meeting at your home and will take about one hour. You will be asked a series of questions to help us understand how the space will be used. We offer day and evening appointment options and typically need one-week notice for scheduling.

Design

Based on project scope, the design process will take 7-10 days. During this time, we may contact you for additional information about your space, your lifestyle, or your preferences. A detailed computerized drawing of your basement will be emailed to you for review prior to developing a proposal. Once a design is approved, we will then move forward with pricing and proposal. You always have the option for us to return to walk you through the design in person so you can best understand our vision for your space.

Proposal

We will email you a highly detailed proposal within 2 days of design approval. You also have the option of requesting us return to formally present the proposal.

Review

After you gather additional proposals from others, we encourage a follow-up appointment with us to not only review our drawing for a second time, but to talk about how our proposal compares to others in an apples to apples fashion.

Revision

You decide that you want to add/delete some amenities. For example, you’re leaning toward a Function Basement Design, but decide that you’d like us to add a bar to the drawing to see how it will look and affect the price. We’ll then incorporate a Bar into the drawing (sometimes changing the entire layout) along with revising the written proposal to show you what exactly what we plan to do along with any price difference.

Congratulations, you’ve decided that a Function Basement Design is the best choice! Once all paperwork is taken care of and a deposit is made, we’ll apply for permits within your local village. The permit process typically takes 1-2 weeks and we will start within 1-2 weeks of receiving your permit. During permit review, we’ll have you make your finish selections to ensure a timely completion. Once underway, we’ll give weekly status updates via email with selection reminders and updated target completion dates. Our goal is 6-8 weeks, depending on the project size and scope.
